Stag & Hen Weekends

Your last great weekend, on your own private estate.

Send them off in style at Gildridge Estate — a private six-bedroom country home in the East Sussex countryside, set in its own grounds and built for a proper celebration. With room for up to 24 guests, the entire estate is yours for the weekend, with no neighbours to disturb, no shared walls, and no early curfew on the fun.

The property has been designed for group entertaining from the ground up. Inside, the large drawing rooms with their exposed beams, fireplaces and generous seating make ideal spaces for evening drinks, music and the kind of long, late nights weekends like this are made for. The dining room seats up to 28, the fully equipped kitchen handles ambitious group cooking, and the layout flows naturally between rooms so the party never feels confined.

Outside is where Gildridge really shines for stag and hen groups. The private hot tub seats the whole crew for a soak, the tennis and basketball court invite competitive afternoons, and table tennis, a pool table, table football and a dartboard offer endless rounds of friendly rivalry. The grounds include acres of lawns, a croquet lawn, and outdoor seating areas perfect for daytime drinks and barbecues — the BBQ is ready to fire up whenever you are.

For bigger nights out, Brighton and Eastbourne are an easy taxi ride away with plenty of bars, restaurants and nightlife. Lewes — with its pubs, restaurants and direct trains to London — is just down the road. By day, the South Downs, country walks and local villages offer something gentler for those nursing the night before.

A few practical notes: quiet hours outdoors run from 9 PM to 9 AM (the indoors is yours), no fireworks or outdoor music, and a few sensible rules to keep the property the place everyone wants to come back to. Beyond that — the estate is yours.

The perfect last hurrah, in one of the most beautiful corners of Sussex.
